The Corbel Ledge Block typically makes up 1-2% of the ICF wall assembly on most residential & commercial jobs. This block has six (6) strong full length injection molded plastic ties made from Polypropylene (PP)regrind resin that are well marked with the word "Fox Blocks" located on both sides of the block. These ties secure the two pieces of 1.5 pcf density modified Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) foam together that makes up each block type. The blocks are stacked tightly together and inter-locked end to end to the desired wall length. Corbel Ledge Blocks are typically used at the top of the wall to support other adjacent lateral loads (i.e., exterior masonry veneer loads, interior floor joist loads, etc.). Once a single layer or course of Corbel Ledge Blocks is installed, horizontal reinforcing steel bars are inter-locked securely together in the ties of the blocks, in both the main core and the extended ledge core. These two pieces of reinforcing steel bar are tied together before placing the concrete using an engineered steel reinforcing bar called a stirrup. The stirrup bars are typically installed/spaced every 8" O.C. After the concrete is poured/cured, the Corbel Ledge Block can support a 25' tall masonry wall.
